The kids loved stepping outside for a morning walk, then watching the sunset and stars, things that are hard to enjoy in the city. We had a fantastic visit in August 2020. Our room was clean and bright, and the hotel sits in a beautiful spot among trees and hills. It's convenient for getting around the Moganshan area by car or hired ride, and staff know the area and activities well. The on-site restaurant was so good we didn't feel much need to go elsewhere for dinner. It serves both Western and Chinese food, and the Chinese dishes were delicious. The hotel and restaurant also welcome dogs.

The restaurant is worth a visit, especially for the incredibly delicious Roast Chicken. We had a spectacular long weekend in April at Solvang, with thoughtful, simple design and great beds and bathrooms. It's at the end of a quiet road with direct access to the region's best hiking trails. One special outing was the hike to the Tea Plantation, about five hours round trip through bamboo forest, with hardly any other hikers.
