Breakfast overlooking the beach was lovely, and it was just as nice to sit in the same spot after sunset with a glass of wine. The beach is right by the hotel, a great base for enjoying Lamma Island. Everyone seemed cheerful and keen to make guests feel at home, from reception to the kitchen and housekeeping. My room had what I needed: a fridge, safe, kettle, tea and coffee, plenty of hot shower water, a comfy mattress and pillows, quick WiFi, and a balcony with a café table and chairs. There were slippers too, and more.

Some rooms have the same stinky-inn feel as places in Sham Shui Po!

The staff were really nice, and the area is pretty if you can look past the power plant. But our room didn't match the photos, was smaller than advertised, and faced straight onto walls. The air conditioner was noisy, and I'd avoid eating at the restaurant.

It's a beautiful spot, though keep in mind the walk from the ferry takes about 30 minutes.

We had a great staycation with friends during Covid-19, together with my wife. The hotel sits right on the beach, and the staff were always kind and more than supportive. Our room was clean and had everything necessary. The shower pressure was the best I've come across in Hong Kong so far. A thumbs up for the Bayshore Inn, we'll come again!
