City Oasis Guesthouse

City Oasis isn't for everyone. It's tucked away from the main route, and getting there means walking about 5-7 minutes from a taxi drop-off or bus stop. I liked that as part of its charm. The quiet setting was nice after a full day in the city, though getting to the main action takes about an hour to an hour and a half with Terry's directions. I was there for an early hike up Lantau Peak, and the location made reaching the trail easy without buying or worrying about transport. Terry was wonderful, quick to answer my many messages, and sent detailed directions with pictures and tips for traveling around Hong Kong. He brought me fresh water on arrival and showed me the rooftop with its amazing view. The service was superb. My cute, clean room had its own shower and everything, which I hadn't expected as someone who stays in hostels a lot. If I could give the stay more than five stars, I would.

Getting to the place means a short walk from the main road, but the views along the way made it lovely. It would be a bit of a challenge with lots of luggage, so traveling light is best. The room was very clean, and Terry was kind and hospitable, with plenty of suggestions for enjoying Hong Kong. I loved how he looked after his guests and would definitely stay again.

For anyone who loves hiking, waking up to the mountains and all that greenery is hard to beat. Read up beforehand so you're ready for a great stay. Host Terry was really nice and helpful.

I spent three nights here and really enjoyed it, so I'd recommend it. Terry was kind and very accommodating, and the rooms were really clean. The location works well if you're okay taking buses. There are lots of them about ten minutes away, and they can take you to the metro or around Hong Kong and nearby areas.
