Saiyuen

The people were nice and the service was okay, and the activities were fun, but I honestly found the place disgusting. My dorm had about eight huge spiders, plus three bugs or insects on my bed that I found out were bed bugs. Some of the experience was discouraging. If you're planning a trip here, just stay home and don't go.

The staff were pretty nice, and the other amenities weren't half bad, but for this price I expected a much better environment. My room stayed hot even with the air con blasting, and the bed was broken. It's also quite far from the harbour. Unless you're really into nature and hiking, I'd save the money for somewhere better.

We arrived Friday evening and left around 11 AM Saturday. Evenings and mornings were the nicest times, and we enjoyed the swings and play area in the evening, then watched goats over breakfast in the morning. The campsite and tents were clean. There were only a few families around, since it was summer and a Friday evening. @saiyuen_cheungchau is about a 20-minute walk from Cheng chau pier. It's a great family or friends getaway from Hong Kong, and kid-friendly. Tents have air conditioning and toilets, and you can book a BBQ. There are hot and cold water refill stations and two restaurants nearby. We brought dinner food, cup noodles, snacks, and fruit. There are lots of mosquitoes, so remember mosquito spray 😆. Tents start at around 900 for four adults.

The campgrounds were stunning, and there's a really secluded beach super close by. I took my boyfriend there for his birthday and we had SUCH a lovely time. Would definitely highly recommend.
