The room was warm enough to be uncomfortable, around 28-29°C, but staff first said the air conditioning couldn't be switched on because Jiangnan hotels use central heating at that time of year. I stayed for one night in mid-March. After I pushed a bit, they offered another room they described as “cooler.” The air conditioning worked there and brought the temperature down to 25°C. My friends on the same tour, though, were all still in rooms at 28-29°C.

We had dinner at both the Chinese restaurant and the teppanyaki restaurant, and enjoyed the food at each. The rooms were spacious, and it was a nice hotel overall in a city that seems to be developing. The front desk staff didn't speak English, but they found someone for us who did.
