We spent over 2-3 hours here with a local guide, who shared family stories and history. The building complex has dozens of rooms and courtyards, laid out for several generations to live there. It belonged to one of the best-known and wealthiest local families for centuries. A must-see in Jianshui old town. Cheers!

It's close to the ancient town, which makes it easy to explore Jianshui. The place is beautiful and has a long history, and it's a great spot to learn about Chinese ancient architecture.

I've never seen a garden more beautiful.

At the far end of the villa there's a rock garden with two viewing platforms. Chu Family Garden is an old villa in Jianshui City that belongs to the Chu family, and it still has its distinctive ancient charm.
