Puyuan Fashion Resort-West Courtyard inn

I loved walking through the ancient town at my own pace, especially with the entrance ticket included in the stay. It felt like a real luxury. The town looked especially beautiful lit up at night, and that experience seemed unique to this place. The hotel itself blends old and new nicely: the room had a traditional style but was clean and modern, and the staff were attentive and polite. I felt at ease throughout this distinctive resort stay, where contemporary style meets the ancient town.

Puyuan's peaceful old town is lovely for wandering, relaxing, and taking photos. The hotel makes it easy to enjoy the setting, with unlimited access in and out of town and special options like night cruises and kayaking. Staff are prompt and attentive, from arranging contact and transfers ahead of time to helping during the stay. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, with complimentary drinks and quality toiletries; there's also a spa, fitness center, and banquet facilities. Breakfast has plenty of choice and tastes good. A nice fit for families on vacation who want to unwind and soak up the ancient town atmosphere.

The rooms are full of thoughtful, unusual details, right down to the antique kettle and Chinese-style toiletries boxes. The bathtub sits in the middle of the room, which is distinctive, though the floor can be slippery when walking over from the shower. There are performances around the park, games with ancient currency, and staff in traditional outfits who are cute and dedicated. The night boat trip was wonderful, especially the 8:30 pm show boat tour, don't miss it. There weren't many tourists when I visited, so exploring felt relaxed. It looked like a long ride to take the electric cart inside, but the walk from the hotel to the visitor center is only about five minutes, passing beside Fushan Pagoda, which has a beautiful view at night. This is one of the best scenic spots I've seen in China. The other is Hailuogou, with its amazing photography hotels.

The hotel serves a generous breakfast, and the place looks beautiful by day and night. The lighting after dark is especially amazing.
