There are free table tennis facilities for hotel guests, and they provide rackets. This is one of Jinan's best-known hotels for its table tennis theme, having hosted many tournaments and players including the Chinese national team and Timo Boll. The rooms are a little dated, around a typical 3-star standard. The location is nice, about a 15-minute walk from Quancheng Spring City Square.

The bedding was clean, and there was plenty of hot shower water. The room felt small, though, and at night I could hear motorcycles roaring and wind outside. The location is handy for attractions, shops, and food. The decor feels a little dated, and the pool is closed from October to May, so bring a swimsuit if you're planning to use it when it's open. Parking costs 10 yuan a night. It was okay, but the 4-star rating was a bit disappointing.

There are lots of amenities nearby, and the hotel is in a convenient spot. But the room looked a little dated, and the bathroom smelled strongly of urine, which didn't feel in keeping with a 4-star hotel. I called the room at 10:20 pm to ask about the extra room fee, but nobody answered during the day... I'd already paid the security deposit the front desk asked for when I checked in!

Snow had been falling along the way that night, so the room felt especially warm when we got in. This was one of several upscale hotels we stayed at on the trip. The place really opened my eyes: pictures and images about table tennis, or ping-pong, were all over the hotel. It was clearly a group closely connected with table tennis and had won lots of awards. Quite a sight!
