The themed areas were beautifully done, each with its own look. I especially liked Qingming Shanghe Tu for its fantasy feel, while the Palace of the Emperor Qin stood out for its historical atmosphere. There are live shows, plenty to do, and costumed NPCs interact with visitors, which makes it feel immersive. This was my first visit to Hengdian World Studios, and as a fan of Chinese period dramas, I thought it was fabulous. We bought a 2-day ticket covering five attractions from Trip.com for around 1,500 baht. The zones are so large that we were tired after the other areas and didn't make it to Dream Valley. We did see the Palace of the Emperor Qin, the Ming and Qing Dynasty Palace, Qingming Shanghe Tu, and Guangzhou and Hong Kong Street. Hours change with the season: in winter it's 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, and in summer it's 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. If you're with children or elderly people, you can rent a bicycle for around 40 yuan to make getting around easier. Renting a Hanfu, a traditional Chinese costume, also really adds to the experience and lets you feel like you're in a period drama.
We had an awesome time. The area is huge, but renting bikes made getting around much easier. It was also very clean.
With actors in costume, crews at work, and filming going on all the time, Hengdian World Studios feels full of energy. It gives you a real sense of the work behind Chinese dramas, and the “Hollywood of China” title feels well earned. It's one of China's biggest and most impressive film production hubs. The sets range from ancient palaces to modern streets, all built with a lot of detail and realism. Multiple films and dramas can be shooting at once, so the whole place feels like a movie set that's come to life.
Lovely place. Sending love from India.
It's quieter than The forbidden city in Beijing, so it's a nice option if you want to relax.
