The receptionists seem glued to their phones. If you interrupt, they give you a 'smouldering lazer like look'.

The mosquito mats supplied in the rooms are Chinese-made imitations, and the machines get incredibly hot. The hotel clearly knows mosquitoes are an issue, yet these repellents have a strong smell, and their harsh ingredients make my throat and eyes sting badly enough to cause discomfort. Even so, the mosquitoes keep flying energetically around the room. In summer, opening the windows brings in a swarm. Since it’s a Chinese-style building, mosquitoes also seem to get inside somehow even when the windows are shut.
