We really enjoyed staying here. The room is basic, but it gives you a real sense of what a courtyard stay might have been like in the old days. The receptionist was very sweet and helped us arrange a taxi and suggested nearby places to visit.

Breakfast is served in the shared courtyard, and it's a decent English-style spread of eggs, sausages, bacon, toast, fruit, coffee or tea. Be prepared to wait around half an hour, though. The staff are friendly but badly organized, and housekeeping was lacking, with maids coming and going at all hours. The location near the old city's north gate is good. Our pleasant room had a very large bed and typical antique Chinese decor, but no wardrobe or shelves to put things away. Good value for money overall.
