Pingyao Yuanlong Inn

From this hostel, you can head into the ancient city and find the ticket office for the tour, along with the Weapons Museum and established restaurants nearby. It's closest to Pingyao Railway Station among the entrances to the ancient city. I highly recommend the walk along the wall from the North Gate to the South Gate. It can feel a little lonely, but you get to see more than half the ancient city, so it's worth doing. Plan on three days and two nights, including another day for the exhibition halls. Some overlap, such as the Escort Agency and the Chamber of Commerce, so you may end up visiting them more than once. Be sure to get the package ticket, which is valid for three days. This is a highly recommended backpacker's hostel and welcomes foreign visitors, including people from Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau.
