We left for another hotel around the corner. The Taiwanese guy at reception was kind and understanding, but his boss wouldn’t listen. I’ve never had such awful customer service. The manager seemed to care only about money. We’d reserved their one nice room, but it had been double-booked. Instead, we got a terrible room: water on the floor, no AC, no direct daylight, no mattress on the bed, no bathroom, and it was just old. They said they’d refund the first night, then the next day wanted to charge us a ridiculous amount for “using” the room. Our worst hostel experience ever. If I could give zero stars, I would have ...

The atmosphere is really friendly, and it’s a comfortable place to stay. I’m not sure whether they let foreigners stay, though. If you’re tired of local food, you can ask them to share dinner with you. It’s Chinese cuisine rather than local food. Sometimes people drink late here, which could make it hard to sleep.

It’s inside the old city, near a primary school, and the environment is nice. The staff were super nice and tried to help with everything, checking information for me. Foreigners can stay here. There’s also a very friendly golden retriever called “shi tou (stone)”.
