The location was the saving grace. For a 3 star hotel, the stay was underwhelming. They didn’t provide slippers, toothbrushes, shower gel, or shampoo, and I’d expect those to be included without an extra charge. The 1,000 HKD deposit felt high when the room cost 670 a night with the mobile discount. I’d find 500 more acceptable. The A/C rattled loudly every now and then, and it could easily sound like someone was trying to get in. That put me on edge, especially since the door had no additional lock. The double bed was made by joining two singles, and the hard edges of both mattresses dug into me when I tried to sleep in the middle. The duvet didn’t cover the whole bed, so if your SO likes to hog the blanket, you’re screwed. The pillows were flat, and I’d have gotten better support from the bath towels. Neither bedside light switch worked.

The room was clean and nice, though quite small, and the air conditioner was a bit loud. There are a few stairs to climb at the hotel entrance. Shampoo, soap, and welcome waters aren’t included. You also need to leave a 1000 HKD deposit at check-in, which reception returns when you check out.

The price was fair and the location was decent. The bed was hard, though the pillows were nice and soft. The old AC made noise, but the area was generally quiet. There was no shower gel, and you can buy an amenities pack at reception for hk$20. Tourists should know the HK$1000 deposit has to be paid in cash. My window had been left open for some reason, and a cockroach came in when it rained. Watch out for the uneven bathroom surfaces too. I dropped my phone twice on the ledges where I set it down for a second. The pool wasn't open in April, so check with management.

I would consider staying here again. The rooms are compact but work for one person, and basic toiletries aren't provided, just towels and toilet paper. The hotel sits on a hill, which could make getting there difficult for elderly guests. I also noticed there didn't seem to be security cameras on the floors, which made me wonder about security. Check-in requires a cash deposit, and they inspect the room for damage before returning it.
