The place was comfortable for us, but I'd say it's not toddler- or senior-friendly because of the elevator renovation. We were three able-bodied adults and had a good stay. The owner was accommodating and considerate, and even with a language barrier we managed a peaceful, safe rest on the 5th floor. It's cheap on nathan road, so set your expectations accordingly. The lively location was comfortable without costing too much. They provided an adapter and towel, and the shower had hot and cold water. I think the showerhead worked well as a bidet too since it was close to the toilet.

On my second stay, I found the toilet tank in the first room had no water, so I had to fill it by hand to flush, which was gross. In the second room, the shower stayed hot for only 1-2 minutes before turning cold. The first visit was quite good for the price, which was very reasonable by Hong Kong standards. The room was very clean and small, about what you'd expect from a budget hotel there. The manager was polite, maybe overly so. He spent what felt like ages explaining the room's amenities and kept repeating the same things. I appreciated the explanation, but repeating yourself isn't a good sign of one's intelligence.

A good spot for an overnight stay.

Amigo Inn Hong Kong is in Yan Hong Building, about a 5-minute walk from Exit E2 at Mong Kok MTR. The entrance is small. Go up to the 2nd floor by stairs before taking the elevator to the 4th floor for reception and check-in, then another elevator to the 8th floor for the rooms. The location is excellent, close to the station and even closer to Ladies' Market on the next street. The downstairs area is lively. Rooms have a bed, slippers, and a private bathroom, but they're very small. That's to be expected in Hong Kong, where land is extremely expensive, and around HKD 200 gets you this sort of room. The price was 252 per night, excluding breakfast, from November 15th to 17th, 2024. Breakfast isn't included, though there are plenty of places to eat downstairs. It's hard to find this price in a high-end place like Hong Kong, so it suits people with modest requirements. The owner is a Chinese man, and a Vietnamese woman in charge speaks good Chinese. There's a HKD 100 deposit, refundable at check-out. Wi-Fi speed really isn't very good, but there's an outlet by the bed. They provide a power adapter with a UK standard three-prong plug, and you can borrow one from the owner if you forget yours. Some rooms have beds and some don't. Rooms without windows are a few tens of dollars cheaper.
