Leaving was the best part of my stay. I regret booking here just to save money, since you get what you pay for. The location is excellent, but the service was practically nonexistent. There's no reception desk, and the person handling messages didn't answer complaints. My room was filthy, noisy, and infested with cockroaches. It had no windows and was barely big enough for the bed. The TV cable was broken too. I don't recommend this place.

The two good points were that the place is close to the subway and offers luggage storage. Otherwise, this was the worst accommodation experience I've had. We booked two double rooms for the night of October 25, my birthday trip, and were stunned by how cramped they were. One room had a king-size single bed instead of the double room we booked. Staff said the room in Xiaogang was smaller, this one had a double bed, and we were bigger, so asked if we wanted a larger room and bed. We're Taiwanese and Asian, so I wasn't sure what difference they meant. I worried I might be misunderstanding because of cultural differences, so I checked the Hong Kong measurements afterward. The photos confirmed what I found: we'd booked a double room but got a king-size single bed. We were asked to pay over NT$1,000 for the bigger bed, which they were calling a king-size single bed. The listing says 8 square meters, but the actual space is only about 2 pings. The area also differs a lot by room number, so be careful when booking. It felt completely different from what was advertised, and I felt ripped off. It's not that I mind paying, but a business should be honest and offer fair value. For a total over 3,000, I'd rather choose an ordinary hotel that might be roomier and more comfortable. There were also personal belongings in the closet, with photos. Is that professional? If something went missing, would they ask us about it? They didn't even provide toilet paper until we asked. If you're not especially thin, I wouldn't book a standard double room for two. Moving around with two large suitcases could be difficult. The official website has a reply for reference. Since I can't answer on the app, I'm responding here. The staff on site raised whether I was overweight or thin. We didn't bring that up. They also didn't specify the bed size. I understand standard widths can vary by area, but why use a different standard from other places in Hong Kong? I don't think it's a matter of cost. A business should be truthful, and what is written online should match what guests find in person. This seems to have happened before, so the hotel should reflect on its work instead of quickly shifting blame. I started in the hotel industry and know service work is hard, but I've never seen anything this outrageous. I can do the math; they should see an ophthalmologist. I mentioned the 8 square meters because many countries use ping or tsubo in calculations, and wanted to warn travelers about possible confusion. I'm replying with the same message to the hotel. As a service provider in the hotel industry, I recommend visiting hotels in different countries and experiencing their customs and service styles. That could help improve the hotel instead of leading to repeated disputes and complacency. The hotel's reply is included below too.

The location is the one real advantage. Finding your way in is a matter of luck: there are no signs or reception, and you have to explain things and show your reservation. The building has several entrances that don't connect with one another. There's no service, laundry, or ironing, and our room wasn't cleaned once during five days. There's no refrigerator, and guests can't use the shared kitchen in the hallway. A cooler with hot and cold water is available. The walls seem no thicker than cardboard, since you can hear it from several rooms away. In the neighboring rooms, loud Chinese guests with children were screaming and making noise until around 2 a.m.

The place is clean, the service is good, and the location is convenient. But there's absolutely no soundproofing. Whatever noise is outside comes through just as loudly. Someone complained on the booking site, and the business replied that it's a guesthouse and everyone should help maintain the living environment. Yet the person they hired was on the phone at midnight, shouting without lowering their voice.
