Mei Mei Motel

The owner and his family are friendly, and the 24-hour counter feels very safe. The rooms are extremely small, more hostel than motel, with no chair or window. There were bugs on the bed, and the towels weren't always clean. Having the front desk control the AC and hot water is inconvenient, and the area itself isn't the best place to stay. Each Double Bed Room is HKD300, no matter what you see on booking, hotels, or agoda. After booking through any travel agency, you'll get a message from MeiMei asking for one night's deposit via paypal. The rest of the $ MUST be paid in CASH (HKD) when you arrive.

The building is pretty run-down, and at first you might wonder if you're lost. The room is cramped, which is to be expected for such a low price. The location is very good, right next to a train station. The bed isn't great, since you can feel the springs, but it's still sleepable. The toilet and shower aren't separate, so you have to shower in the toilet and there's little room to hang towels. The TV doesn't work. Overall, it's meh.

Fantastic spot in the heart of Mongkok, and the staff were helpful. It's a great little budget hotel, and the room was super clean. The bed was a bit uncomfortable, with the springs digging in.

The location is amazing, and the tiny room is fine for Hong Kong. But the lobby and staff were too loud for easy sleeping, and they turn off your water heater overnight, leaving you with cold showers in the morning.
