The room I got bore no resemblance to the single-room photos. I checked in at 'Melbourne hostel' and was sent to 'Germany hostel'. At check-in they also charged extra for cleaning and the key. In my room, neither the TV nor the air conditioning worked, and there was no shower towel. If you can stretch your budget a little, I’d pay more for a decent hotel. You’ll be glad you did.

The staff were polite, spoke English well, and were very helpful. The room itself was small, but clean, and the bed was decent. The lobby looked a bit questionable at night, though the area was actually safe. For this price, the basics were there: cold air conditioning and Wi-Fi included. The location worked well too, with a train station right nearby, a convenience store on the same block, and a short walk to a spot overlooking the bay. It’s a minimal place, as you’d expect for what you pay, and I have no complaints. I’d be fine staying here again at this price.

This place is basically a proxy for "DHILLON HOTELS," with no actual physical presence of its own. The only sign showing that name, alongside other hotel names, is by the elevator in Building E of Chungking Mansion. When you check in, your booking determines which of the "DHILLON HOTELS" hotels you’re assigned to. The facilities are decent for the price, and I’m the sort of backpacker or short-stay guest it seems aimed at, so I was comfortable there. The rooms aren’t top quality, though. I’m not sure why they operate this way. It feels like changing the name is easy while the actual place stays the same. Either way, I wouldn’t call it a proper hotel.
