O' Hotel

The staff were unfriendly and rude. There wasn't bottled water in the room, and when we tried to refill from the dispenser by the lounge and reception, they took it away and said guests couldn't get water there either. The room was tiny and worn out, about 11 m², with only two 80 cm twin beds and no wardrobe. We had to keep our luggage under the bed and kneel down to get things out. The toilet smelled awful, the door wouldn't close properly to contain it, and it clogged during the last two days of our trip. There was no soundproofing either, so guests in nearby rooms were so loud early in the morning that I could barely sleep. A terrible experience, and not worth the price.

The location works well for getting around by MTR or bus, and the room has enough space for one person. The staff are friendly, though some weren't very helpful or informative when I asked about travel. The room had a really bad stale-air or cigarette smell.

The shower had good heat and water pressure, but there was no shampoo or soap in the room. The floors looked dirty, and the room was very small and old. Smoke was a problem throughout: our room smelled of it, and so did the hallways, despite the no-smoking signs in the room. It wasn't welcoming for our kids, and the staff weren't very friendly either. This was one of the worst hotels we've stayed in, and we won't come back.

The second room was still small, but at least the AC worked and there was some ventilation. At this price, though, I'd rather stay somewhere else. We were travelling on a budget through Asia, with Hong Kong as our last stop, and booked this thinking it was the sensible choice. It wasn't cheap. The hotel is in a poor part of Hong Kong, though the MRT is only about 20 steps away. I had specifically asked the MALE receptionist for a room with good AIR CON because we were coming from cold Japan. When I walked into the room he gave us, I started crying. It was covered in mold, had no ventilation or working AC, and the bedsheets were dirty. I could barely breathe and was ready to leave and spend my savings on an expensive hotel. Luckily, I showed our booking to the FEMALE receptionist and told her the room was nowhere near the pictures. She was kind and moved us.
