Vve Vve Hotel

The location is excellent, just across from TST station, and there are plenty of places to eat nearby. Bakehouse is only about 3-5 minutes away. We knew the room wouldn’t be large, but expected the small fridge shown in the pictures, and there wasn’t one. We had to ask for a kettle, which was rusty. The room is very small and really only suitable for sleeping and bathing, with no workspace for digital nomads.

We paid in full online through Agoda for a very tiny room, but when we arrived, they wouldn’t let us check in unless we paid an HKD$2,000 deposit. That was the full amount we’d paid for the whole stay. This happened after we turned down their offer to pay extra for an upgraded room. It felt like they were looking for ways to make money and treating guests like dollar signs instead of people. The worst!

We booked a Triple Room, but there were four of us, so they insisted we upgrade to a quadruple room. The price difference they wanted was insane, so we booked a room for two at another hotel and only two of us planned to stay in their Triple Room. They got bitter that we didn’t take the Quadruple Room and then demanded a HKD$2,000 cash deposit or said we couldn’t check in. The deposit wasn’t mentioned anywhere on Agoda. We called Agoda to sort it out. While we were standing there, Agoda called them, and they told Agoda they couldn’t speak English, even though we’d already been arguing about the deposit. Such liars. This hotel is all about the money. It’s a scam.

A clean, compact little room that works for a solo traveler, in a really great neighborhood. The mansion is right in front of MRT Tsim sha tsui 🖤. Since the pandemic, you need to contact reception through Whatsapp or Line only. There’s nobody at the desk, and you get into the room with a combination number rather than a key.
