Four Points By Sheraton Kunming Dongfeng Square

We spent six nights here, and the room was kept very clean, with fresh towels and plenty of drinking water provided each day. Ms Chen at the front desk was especially helpful and assisted us with booking entry tickets for the Yunnan Provincial Museum. Kunming Old Street and Green lake were easy to reach by taxi.

The laundry setup was a real plus for me. The commercial washers and dryers were convenient and saved me a lot. Staff at the desk were friendly and helpful too. When I misplaced my room key cards, they quickly made replacements and told me not to worry about the security issue. Housekeeping seemed standard. I happened to come back from breakfast while they were cleaning, and they swiped my cards at the door and explained why. Since the hotel has only just opened, the furniture had an unpleasant smell. They also didn't provide Four Points soap, just a large bottle of unbranded hand wash. I eventually got the soaps I needed through the Bonvoy app (p3). P4 is the hotel's NOBRAND handwash, and I guess it didn't meet the Marriott standard for these amenities. Maybe it's cost saving or an eco-friendly move 😇 It's a new hotel, and they have robots delivering takeout around the clock ☺️ Walmart is about a five-minute walk away. In bad weather, though, you'll probably need a taxi to get to the City center. Breakfast runs from 7 to 10 AM, a bit early for me, but after 10 you can still get cold food and warm rice noodles.

I really valued having breakfast included as a Gold Elite member. I also forgot the lock for my luggage, and a staff member patiently helped me get it open. They took good care of me, and that made a real difference.
