Hampton by Hilton Kunming Guandu

We had a comfortable two-night stay at Hilton Hampton Guandu in Kunming after our long trip. The hotel is across the road from MixC shopping mall and the Metro line 6 to the airport, which made the location convenient. The front desk team were friendly. We were especially grateful to Mr. GAO (Gao Zhishan）, who warmly helped with our heavy luggage on arrival and brought it to our room with a cheerful smile. At checkout, he offered to help us get a taxi and load our large suitcases. Thanks to him and the front desk staff.

It looked pretty good, and the hotel met my expectations for a western-style place in a lower-tier Chinese city. The breakfast and service were lacking, though. If you want coffee or breakfast, the quality may disappoint: the coffee and juices were bad, the food was cold, and there were no utensils for the croissants or half the other items.

MixC, a large mall, is right across the road, and the location worked well for us. We had a pleasant stay at Hampton. The staff were polite, helpful, and well trained. Sofia was especially helpful with our late checkout and navigation issues. I’d recommend this hotel when staying in Kunming.

We stayed one night during a private tour and had a really enjoyable stay. The hotel is modern and comfortable, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. Nora arranged delivery dinner for us, which a robot brought to our room. They also decorated the large room beautifully for our anniversary. Breakfast was very good, with local and international dishes, desserts, and fruit. There’s a large mall across the road, which would be convenient, though we didn’t visit it.
