The friendly, helpful staff really made our stay at the Moon and Chalice Boutique Hotel special. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. The building has been thoughtfully turned from an old structure into a beautiful, welcoming hotel, with historic character alongside modern comfort. Its location in the heart of Kunming's Old Town made it easy to enjoy the area's history and charm, with everything we wanted to explore just a pleasant short walk away. Our family room was quiet and cozy, with a comfortable bed and modern comforts, while keeping its historic feel, right down to the gold-colored antique French plumbing. The staff were exceptionally attentive and helpful, and the owner's English made things much easier. We also appreciated the hot tea brought each evening and their willingness to keep our luggage for an extended period. The Moon and Chalice Boutique Hotel sits in the old town amid beautiful architecture, close to lots of good food and an easy walk from Green Lake. A fabulous stay, and a lovely way to experience this friendly, lively city.

Every evening, they brought a special local tea to my room, and the manager was so friendly and helpful, assisting me with almost everything. My room was stylish, clean, and cozy, with lots of small, elegant details. The hotel is in the heart of old city Kunming, and the building itself is an architectural masterpiece and a Kunming landmark. Many people come to take pictures nearby. I absolutely loved my stay.

The room was clean, cozy, and comfortable, and the staff were lovely. They brought water and fruit every day and gave me plenty of tips on where to go and what to eat. The hotel is charming, and the location could not be better. I'll be back!

The manager speaks perfect English and went above and beyond to help me. Beds are very comfortable, and the location is perfect, with lots of restaurants right outside. Groups gather in the square in front of the hotel every evening for traditional dances. I'd absolutely recommend it if you're in Kunming.
