The setting is lovely, with flower-filled streets lined by trees around the Dianchi area. It’s a comfortable 25-30 minute walk to 1903 Park Mall, which has shops, lots of food and drink options, a lake with activities, and an amusement park. This is the nicest Hilton Garden Inn I’ve stayed at. The team were courteous and professional, from the Front Desk to Engineering. It’s a relatively small property with 136 rooms.

We found the location handy for picking up snacks and drinks at the gas station next door, and a straight walk gets you into the city. A ride there costs around RMB 18-20, which seemed reasonable. The receptionist was very helpful with tourist questions. Our room in Kunming had a minimalist design and plenty of space. Breakfast was acceptable, not too oily, though the choices were limited. We had a pleasant night here on our trip.
