Novotel Kunming Yunjin

We spent one night at Novotel Kunming City Center in September 2024, and Amber Fang at reception made the experience fantastic. When we lost our passport in a taxi, she handled the stressful situation with care and efficiency, tracked it down, and got it returned quickly. She also gave us great advice for Kunming and our onward travels. We're incredibly grateful for her service, which made all the difference. Highly recommend the hotel for its comfort and a team that really cares about guests.

The rooms are beautiful and extremely modern, and the hotel is near the subway, a mall, and, most importantly, a 7-Eleven. If you don't speak Chinese, you'll need a Translate app to communicate with staff. There aren't any English TV channels, but in beautiful Kunming I really didn't need to watch TV anyway!

We stayed four nights in April 2025 and had no regrets choosing this hotel. Front office Kit Long went the extra mile to help us book restaurant reservations when we were struggling with the local apps and language. The location works well for getting to most local attractions, with short Didi rides, and the train station is a minute's walk away. It gives underground access to nearby South Asia Mall, which is great for food and shopping. The rooms are huge, with an option for a third occupant, handy if you're travelling with a young person so you don't need another room. Daily room service was clean and good. Very good hotel.

The staff were very friendly, and there's a laundry room on the 20th floor. You have to go there to iron, since they don't provide an iron and ironing board in the room. Shopping malls and a convenience store are very close. The airport ride took 40-50 minutes, as did the trip to Kunming main railway station, though there's a subway within walking distance. We travelled at peak time, so that may be why the rides took so long. A pleasant stay.
