Puju Inn

Getting to Kunming North Railway Station metro station on foot is the inn's biggest plus. Just be aware that Kunming North Railway Station isn't an actual railway station, so there are no train tickets to buy there. We found that confusing when we first arrived. Finding the inn was confusing too. It's down a small lane with two yellow signs for inns with different names, though they're the same place. Check-in is at the first sign, even though the second sign matches the name we booked under. Baidu Map marks the spot as a convenience store with our inn's name; the store staff can point you to the actual inn or take you there. It's not a touristy area, so restaurants are mostly local. Yuantong Temple (Yuantong Temple) and Yuanxi Road (Yuanxi Road) are within walking distance if you're up for it. Yuanxi Road is known for local food, including among locals. Our room was basic and small, on the second floor facing the lane. Every so often we heard people clearing their throats and spitting below the window. The Wi-Fi wasn't working when we arrived, and still hadn't been fixed when we left. The host was friendly and tried to help, but we wouldn't stay again.
