The staff are helpful and good, and the shuttle service is good too. Breakfast is only bread at the moment, so a buffet with cut fruit for vegan guests would be better. The hotel should also offer drinking water. If plastic bottles are banned, a glass jug could be used instead.

The shuttle for hotel guests to the nearest metro is very good and helps with the somewhat remote location. Service was okay, with polite staff who helped when needed, though nothing especially stood out. The rooms are extremely small. There were three of us, and it felt cramped, with hardly enough space to open our luggage comfortably. Breakfast also fell short of what I expected in both quality and variety. Basic stay, decent enough service and useful shuttle, but the room space and breakfast make it less suited to families or groups.

I spent two months at Tsuen Wan Silka Hotel while my home was being renovated. It's relatively new and close to where I live, but my experience was terrible. Calling this a four-star hotel feels shameless when basic hygiene isn't met. Silka is a shabby motel in disguise, and a disgrace to Hong Kong. The hygiene problems started at check-in. The corridors and room smelled strongly musty, and the carpets were stained and seemed never to have been cleaned. Later, mold appeared in the aircon vents and they turned black. Cockroaches came out too. I called after seeing one that morning and asked for immediate cleaning and pest control. When I got back that night, I found another suspected cockroach, and nobody on staff even apologized. The door locks kept failing, leaving me waiting outside while the male manager took his time coming to unlock the door. The hotel often has budget tour groups, and some guests were extremely rude and rowdy. Every day as I stepped out of the elevator, a crowd rushed in without letting people out first. The two staff at the entrance couldn't be expected to control the order. After housekeeping cleaned my room one day, a pair of shorts I'd left on the bed was gone. The staff attitude had been so poor throughout that I didn't want a dispute, so I let it go.

We chose an upgraded premium family room for four of us, two adults and two kids, during our Hongkong stay. It had two double sharing beds and a bathroom with a bathtub, though it felt less spacious than hotels I'd stayed in elsewhere around the world. Shampoo and shower gel were available, but no dental kit, so bring your own. Our tour operator also advised us to pack toiletries since many hotels in Hongkong don't provide them. Breakfast was included. The check-in desk gave us vouchers each day to hand in at the restaurant. The spread was mostly Chinese, with few continental choices: white bread, a toaster and butter, plus omelette and sausages. Some days there were plain cornflakes or a fruit loop mix. If you like Chinese food, the breakfast is highly recommended. They don't provide bottled water, but there's a 7 eleven very close by. That was my first experience at a four-star hotel without water bottles for guests, and thank goodness the shop saved us from dying of thirst 😆. There are also two Pakistani restaurants within 1km. As an Indian who prefers Indian food, I installed keeta and ordered through it from Ebenezer, a good Indian restaurant that delivers to this restaurant.

We stayed four nights and the rooms were spacious, with cleaning done daily. Breakfast was complimentary, and there are plenty of local food places nearby. A 7/11 is downstairs, while mc d is about 200 MTRS away. There's also an Indian run shop like a 7/11 where things cost less, including a 5 litre water can that's not available at 7/11, and some local choclates that were better than the 7/11 ones. The hotel has a free shuttle to the nearest metro every 15 mints. Good hotel and location.
