Right by Lanzhou University’s main campus, the Lanzhou Legend Hotel has a pleasant feel, though it’s an older property. The rooms are roomy and comfortable, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast offers both Chinese and Western food, plus a good coffee machine. For a small extra fee, there’s a health club with a sauna, steam room, bubble baths, and a relaxation room with free snacks. A great place to stay in Lanzhou.

The location was OK, though breakfast was less impressive than I’d expected. The bed was extremely hard, yet somehow among the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on.

The staff are great, but be ready for smoke smell throughout the floors. People still smoke in the hotel and in the rooms. The bathrooms never feel properly clean, and the wardrobes smell of mothballs.

I enjoyed staying here. The inside of the hotel is beautiful, and the room has all the basic things you need. Room service was nice, and you can call reception to order anything. Even the view from the back is good.

We had a pleasant stay despite the bad reviews this place seems to get on TripAdvisor. The room was clean, with some wear and tear but nothing major. The staff speak only a little English, though I wouldn’t expect otherwise given the location. It’s a fine place to rest your head!
