AYARD of Chan

The staff made our stay, especially Luo Xi (Luo Xi）, who shared lots of useful suggestions. We would've enjoyed the trip less without meeting her. The hotel has a peaceful feel, with nicely done Zen-style decor, and serves good vegetarian food at breakfast and dinner. Our bathroom was a little small. It's about 1-2km from the Le Shan Buddha, in a Chinese-style old town that was mostly empty during the off-season.

I wasn't actually at Ayard C'han place, just at a nearby local vendor. Their wontons were the best I've had so far in China, and they were friendly and did their best to help. I don't speak Cantonese or Mandarin, but hand signals were enough to get by.

Friendly front desk, and the location was good.

The check-in took over an hour, maybe because they don't get many foreign guests. Still, sitting by the window with tea and birdsong felt incredibly elegant. The hotel is in a quiet area just outside Leshan city, with a Zen theme, a vegetarian restaurant, and rooms in a refined old Chinese style. My only other downside was the bathroom: shower only, no bathtub.
