Four Points by Sheraton Lhasa

The staff were helpful and assisted with everything I needed for the wheelchair. The bathroom was fairly accessible and I could manage it on my own, though getting into the hotel requires help because there are stairs at the entrance. My room was clean, tidy, and well looked after, and the heater worked well, which was a real comfort in Lhasa. Bottled water was included in the room price. Jokhang Temple is nearby, and shops and cafes are within walking distance. A good stay, and I’d recommend four seasons to other travelers.

We flew to Lhasa instead of taking the train, so getting enough rest while adjusting to the altitude mattered a lot. For the first two days we barely wanted to leave the room and ordered room service, which was pretty good. The hotel was comfortable, clean, and well maintained, and the price was cheap for the area.

This Four Points by Sheraton has the usual mid-range business-hotel features, and for the price it’s good value. The location is handy for the main sights. There’s no gym or pool, and the highland mountain air is very chilly. I stayed in room 1313. It was spacious, with a decent city view, a comfortable bed, a working cooler for setting the room temperature, and a walk-in shower. The FOUR POINTS toiletries were excellent. Wi-Fi was free and worked around the property. The big plasma TV had sports, news, music, movies, and other entertainment in several languages, mostly CHINESE. The restaurant serves a wide range of local and international dishes. Breakfast was okay, with lots of CHINESE food, but sadly no TIBETAN options. Staff were friendly and took care of my needs with a smile, though they need to improve their ENGLISH to serve foreign guests more efficiently.

Food can be a challenge in Lhasa, but this hotel had both traditional and Western choices to suit different tastes. It was comfortable and clean, and the location worked well during our stay. I’d certainly recommend it while visiting Lhasa.
