The location was the biggest plus during our three-night Lhasa stay at Laway International Hotel. Potala Palace is only about a 10-minute walk away, which meant no taxi was needed for early visits before the crowds arrived. Restaurants and cafes nearby made it easy to find momos, thukpa, and good coffee after sightseeing. Our room was surprisingly spacious by Lhasa standards. We had a view of Potala Palace, and seeing it lit up at night was the trip's highlight. At 3,650 metres, the extra room also made acclimatizing more comfortable. A good option if you want to stay central without paying Old Town boutique prices.
