A friend told me, “I could stay at Backpacking for Ten Years for a month,” so I decided to try the Lijiang Branch. On the first day it was quiet, with few guests and not much staff around; the little third-floor bar was more or less closed. The next day was a different mood, with an outdoor bonfire, folk music, barbecue skewers and beer. I could just relax and daydream there. It was cold outside, though, and I wished it were summer so I could stay longer. Parking was easy too: people could park right by the entrance, bring their luggage straight in and check in.

The terrace is huge, with a lovely view over town or Yulong Mountain. It’s very clean and well equipped for a hostel, and you can borrow a bike for free to ride to Wenhai, the mountain lake, Long Lake or the small towns. A perfect place for a trip, 100% recommend.
