Hotel Indigo Lugu Lake

Everything was kept clean, and the high-tech rooms had automatic toilets and a towel heater. The place is huge, but buggies are available to get you around. Service was great, and everyone was friendly.

The heated towel rack and heated toilet were nice touches. Good place, food, and service.

I booked the deluxe room for a weekday, with breakfast, at NT$6000, but a special offer let me use points to get it for about NT$4000. That felt like a fantastic deal. The room was 40 square meters and spacious, with a bright carpet and a Mosuo-themed mural above the bed. It felt comfortable and bright, and the window view was stunning. The hotel’s modern, stylish architecture sits naturally in the landscape beside the lake and against the mountains. The design makes good use of local touches. Mosuo decorations in the lobby give it a cultural, artistic feel alongside the modern style. The lake, nearby covered bridge, and snow-capped peaks behind it were especially beautiful. During my Lijiang trip, I made a special detour to stay a night at the newly opened Hotel Indigo Lugu Lake, which had opened the previous year.

There’s a lake with two adorable black swans that come ashore if you get close, and the village has song and dance performances in the evenings. The recently opened InterContinental Hotels Group's Lugu Lake Hotel is luxurious and high-tech, with lovely landscaping. Breakfast and dinner both have a wide selection of dishes.
