Breakfast was decent, though a few more vegetable dishes would have been welcome. The bigger issue was the noise: buses moving around and drunk people singing woke us in the middle of the night, around 4 a.m. We had six rooms in block b for two nights. The pillows and mattress were comfortable, but my skin felt itchy, as if something was biting me. The showerhead didn’t work properly, and getting the water to a comfortable temperature was difficult, either too hot or too cold. The floor was filthy. After we accidentally spilled some water and wiped it up with tissue, the tissue came away black. At least slippers were provided. This didn’t feel like the four-star property advertised on most booking apps. If I ever visit LJ again, I won’t stay here.

There’s a garden seating area in the inner yard, facing the rooms. The room itself was spacious, with comfortable bedding and a Western-style shower; the toilet is in its own separate compartment. The facilities were good too, including a gym and laundry.

It took us 20 minutes to walk to the ancient city, so the location wasn’t ideal. I wouldn’t return and would look for another hotel near the ancient town. Our room was spacious enough and good, but the service needs improvement. They kept our passports, and when they returned them, we noticed a water stain on the biodata page. The receptionist denied everything and tried to blame us. Staff also seemed poorly trained and couldn’t answer guests’ questions.
