The buffet is huge, with around 25-30 dishes, including traditional Chinese breakfast foods and enough choices for a Western palate. There’s also an omelette and noodle bar where food is made to order. I’m staying here as a base for visiting places in Yunnan. My room is beautiful, spacious, quiet, and extremely clean. The hotel was closed for two years during COVID and redone inside. It’s a five-minute walk from South Gate. The staff are friendly and helpful, and they lend out umbrellas. Last night, at my tour guide’s request, a staff member met me at the gate with an umbrella because it was dark and raining. Ten stars for that. There are lots of rooms on the main floor, and not too many steps to reach the second floor. Great place to stay.

The hotel is in the quieter part of the Old Town, with rooms arranged around several courtyards. Check-in was smooth, and the front desk was helpful. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and there are shops and several restaurants nearby. I also liked the breakfast buffet on the 2nd floor. From the city gate, a golf cart can bring luggage to the hotel for a one-time fee of 5Y per piece. The cart carries luggage only.

We stayed three nights, using the hotel as a good base for visiting Jade Dragon Snow mountain. It’s a lovely hotel in a perfect spot in Lijiang, and the rooms were clean. The interior decor was quite different from what I’m used to, with a setup that takes you back in time a bit.

Near the South Gate, this quaint hotel is inside the old town. My room was small, clean, and fairly cozy, though the soundproofing wasn’t great. Breakfast was simple, with limited options.

The friendly staff and pretty good breakfast added to an amazing stay. The building itself is historical and beautiful. With the old Chinese furniture, lanterns, and lovely wooden windows, it felt like being in a Chinese movie.
