Lijiang Yongli Five Yard

The room design feels distinctive, blending modern comfort with ancestral design. The resort also has the sort of features you’d expect from Intercontinental hotels, including great gardens, service, and an amazing breakfast. It’s ideally placed for exploring Lijiang on foot.

I’ve never stayed at a hotel I liked more for its location, design, facilities, and food. I only ate breakfast and lunch there, but both were good. Ms Miya Zhang was especially approachable. I met her in the lobby, and she gave me all the details I needed to find a new pair of boots so I could go up to the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain comfortably the next day. Thanks for the experience.

The breakfast has lots of choices, and the gym is good, though I wish it had a proper cable machine. Staff were helpful, and the buggy service was quick and efficient. The hotel is very well managed and, I’d say, in the best location in lijiang. The ancient city is just a stone’s throw away, with a private gate for going in and out. It’s also in a great spot for views of the snow-capped mountain. I’ll definitely come back if I get the chance.

The hotel was beautiful, with lovely rooms and buildings, and the housekeeping staff were kind and attentive. Its location was excellent too, but the hospitality overall fell short of what we expected. One room smelled of smoke. We told the front desk twice, but nobody tried to fix it. We’d booked two suites with lounge access, yet the lounge often didn’t have enough clean glasses or cutlery, tables were left dirty, and service was lacking. Drink choices were limited, and the smoking room sometimes made the whole lounge smell strongly of smoke. At checkout, we checked several times with the front desk to make sure all charges were settled. Still, the next day we were contacted about an additional charge of 1300 Yuan.
