Pullman Lijiang Resort and Spa

We stayed for eight nights in the three-bedroom villa as a Muslim family of five adults, booked through halalbooking.com. The price was unbeatable compared with other booking platforms, and no credit card was needed at booking, though full payment was required before the stay. The villa was stunning and tastefully furnished, with a huge ensuite bathroom in each bedroom and very comfortable beds. It could easily fit about six people. Heating throughout kept us cosy at the start of spring, and the rooms were clean with daily housekeeping. One thing to know: there’s no bidet, so bring a portable one. Laundry service is available, though a laundromat would have been useful for a longer stay. The views were unbeatable, with Jade Dragon Snow Mountain visible through every window. The hotel grounds are huge, great for walks, and you can feed the resident diva ducks at the pond. The setting is quiet but still convenient for going out to eat, and it’s just 400 m from Shuhe ancient town. There aren’t halal meal options at the hotel. The breakfast buffet does have some salads, bread, pastries, and eggs, so please dine at your own discretion. Service was absolutely top notch. The friendly reception and housekeeping teams went out of their way to help, from ordering halal meals to arranging transport. We can’t thank everyone enough, kudos to the management and staff. We’d definitely stay here again.

The garden is pretty, and the resort was above average compared with other five-star and Accor resorts I’ve stayed at. Service was a bit slow and didn’t feel top-notch.

The hotel was comfortable and had a nice view. Our room was spacious because we were upgraded to a villa. I’m especially grateful to Vina at the front desk, who was friendly, very helpful, and served us so well. Vina is good at English.

The photos make it look great, but the hotel badly needs an upgrade. The mattress was worn out and gave me back pain, and many things were broken or worn.
