Breakfast at Yuhu Village stayed with me long after the morning ended. In the cool air, hot white porridge and a few noodles warmed me up, and the sweet potatoes and millet tasted like a simple gift from the earth. I found a wooden table and sat quietly, looking at the stone roofs and blue sky while the village was still half asleep. A little cat came by and then wandered off as we said goodbye. Before getting in the car, I looked back at the village and thought I’d come again. I left feeling peaceful and content, then headed toward the thrilling Tiger Leaping Gorge. I stayed in a quiet corner of Yuhu Village at Lijiang Ruixi · Snow Mountain Island Luxury Scented Hotel. Open the window and you can see snow-capped mountains. There’s a subtle woody scent in the rooms, and time seems to slow down there, a welcoming place for travelers arriving lightly. Life keeps bringing encounters and new journeys.
