The staff were so warm and friendly that I felt like a welcome guest. Our room was nicely designed and furnished, and they even showed us how to prepare and enjoy tea properly. We could use the tea set in the lounge whenever we wanted. The service impressed me. I’d recommend this place if you want somewhere quiet that’s still within walking distance of the shuhe old town.

The crew were so personable that the whole place felt like family. Our room was large, cosy, and thoughtfully laid out. The shower had good hot water, though its doors didn’t quite close properly. We enjoyed the hotel dining too, with a Chinese and Western mix at breakfast and equally delicious food at dinner if you choose to eat there.

After staying at Arro Khampa in Shangri-la, I had to try the owner’s hotel in Lijiang. It was just as amazing, and I’d say a touch better: bigger, a bit more modern, and with more facilities. I loved it and recommended it to everyone heading to Lijiang.

The Tibetan food is lovely and worth seeking out, especially given the extraordinarily beautiful location. Sadly, the Indian chef wasn’t available, which was the only downside.
