The wellness and fitness options were a real plus, from tennis and yoga to the nightly dessert delivery, and the photo session was a lot of fun. Lydia made the experience incredible. Auriga was wonderful too. I highly recommend the hotel, it stands leaps and bounds above anything else in Hainan.

The Thai restaurant was a highlight for me. The food was full of flavor, cooked perfectly, and served with warmth and care. It was the best Thai meal I’ve ever had. Capella Sanya made my birthday feel special, with a beautifully decorated table, complimentary champagne, birthday noodles, and cake. I was touched by those thoughtful gestures, and every detail that evening felt carefully handled. The resort itself is stunning, with a broad white sand beach and an elegant pool lined with palms. Our room was huge and beautifully designed, with plenty of comfort and style. From arrival, everything felt luxurious. Thanks to the whole team for a magical stay. I couldn’t recommend Capella Sanya more.

The arrival hall is distinctive, and the service was excellent. We stayed three nights with family in the largest suite apart from the villas. The design throughout was thoughtful, with impeccable attention to detail, and the food was so good it felt comparable to a Michelin restaurant. Even the entry room is 88 square meters, about the size of a large suite at another resort. Kerry Hill, one of the most reputable architects, created a real masterpiece. People widely consider it the best resort in Sanya, perhaps even China. I loved everything about this hotel.

The spa has a Hamam and Snow cabin, and the treatment rooms were lovely. The gym also had state of the art Technogym equipment. Our weekend was much too short, with plenty of people helping make it memorable. We began with a luxurious airport transfer. Culturalist John came along, and pastries, water, a welcome drink, and a cold towel kept us refreshed during the ride. After about 40 minutes, Michelle and the team welcomed us and quickly took us to our room. Coming from Hong Kong, we were especially grateful for all the space. The resort was tranquil and quiet, with the pool and beach just minutes away. We tried every restaurant outlet. Lan Ting had phenomenal Chinese food, Dempsey Restaurant had scrumptious Hainanese Chicken and a steak, and Silk Road, the all day dining restaurant, served extravagant breakfasts. Mimosas in the morning are a great way to start the day. General Manager Yngvar and his management team, Dennis and Bas, are running an exquisite property, at a much higher level than any other 5 star hotel in Haitang Bay and possibly all of Sanya.
