The room itself was fairly ordinary, nothing special, and the location won't suit you at all unless you're planning to visit the grottoes. The hotel is on a small hill and has somewhat tight security. I was told political leaders often stay here. Trams take guests from the lobby to the bottom of the hill, where you can transfer to another tram for the main entrance to Long Men Grottoes (Longmen Grottoes). On the way back, take a ferry from the grottoes and get off at the Bai Yuan (Bai Garden) jetty.

The terrace is a quiet spot to take a break from the crowds, with a view across the river to the Longmen Grottoes. You can't see the famous Vairocana Buddha at Fengxian Temple from there, though.
