Luoyang Jujia Hostel

I stayed here in October 2010, and things were great. Tian ge, the owner, was really nice and knew a lot. Getting there was quite an ordeal, though. I arrived at 4am after getting completely lost around town, searching for what turned out to be a hostel with a big chain on the door. A Westerner walking up and down the street seemed to set off the whole town, and people joined in to help. I finally found an internet cafe and looked up the place. A cab driver took me there, but it was so dark that I refused to get out and got yelled at. I sat on a curb until the hostel owner came to collect me on a bike. The owner of the breakfast shop I was sitting beside had noticed me and called the number I’d given him. I was finally rescued. The next day I saw that the location was safe and easy to reach by bus. It’s a short walk to the main street, where the buses run. I also found some really great local food nearby, a specialty that was a bit like pasta. I highly recommend the place to anyone visiting town.
