I wasn’t sure about the Hyatt Place brand after a few disappointing stays, and I was surprised to find one in my family’s old hometown, which isn’t a major Chinese city by any standard. It’s interesting that Hyatt has a hotel here when the other international chains don’t. The stay ended up being amazing, much better than any Hyatt Place I’ve visited. By US standards, I’d call it at least a Hyatt Regency. I got upgraded to a large, modern premium room with fabulous river and city views through panoramic windows on two sides. Since it’s the tallest building in town, those views may be the best around. Breakfast had a great, wide-ranging selection. The only thing I wasn’t happy with was that the pool is shared with other entities, so there can be lots of kids training there during the day. Apart from that, everything was perfect. I highly recommend it if you come to the city.

The river view was especially impressive, and the hotel sits right beside the Jialing River in Nanchong. Service was excellent, and breakfast was delicious with lots of different dishes. I’d stay here again if I come back to Nanchong.

There’s a food street and a mall right downstairs, and the room was spacious. It’s the tallest building in the area, with views of the river. Breakfast was good too, so I came away with a good impression.
