Golden Fangshan Hoilday Hotel

After more than three weeks, it began to feel less like a hotel and more like home. The people are extremely friendly, always greet you with a genuine smile, and really want to look after you. If they can’t deal with a problem or request themselves, they find someone who can. They also respect that you can manage on your own or prefer to do something differently, while still being ready to help whenever you need it. The place has its faults: things are broken here and there, services work as they do, continental breakfast isn’t a thing, English skills are close to nonexistent, and there’s an ashtray by nearly every “no smoking” sign. Compared with European hotels, I might give it only one star, though that wouldn’t be fair. They do make things work. Home isn’t perfect either, after all. If you want service so hands-off that you never need to lift a finger, go somewhere else.
