The hotel’s past gives it a lot of character. Opened in 1933 as the Capital Hotel during the Republic of China era, it was once a prestigious place where senior Nationalist government military and political officials and foreign diplomats stayed and socialized. It has a long cultural history and is protected as a provincial cultural relic in Jiangsu Province. Guest rooms are spread across the Republic of China Building, the VIP Building, and the Welcome Building. The rooms feel a bit dated, but they're well equipped and reasonably priced. Service is excellent, in keeping with its military affiliation.
