Wuchaomen Park is immaculately clean, and even with lots of people around it doesn’t feel crowded. Locals come here to exercise, and there are two open spaces where large groups can gather. Trees surround the park, with a waterway and old carved stones along the ancient stone walkway. This is the old site of the Ming Dynasty gate and emperor palace. You can climb the steps to the top of the gate for a nice view, and the nearby metro station is named Minggugong after the site.

The Forbidden City in Beijing was the seat of supreme power for more than five centuries, from 1416 to 1911. Its landscaped gardens and many buildings, with nearly 10,000 rooms containing furniture and works of art, provide priceless evidence of Chinese civilization under the Ming and Qing dynasties. In Shenyang, the Qing Dynasty Imperial Palace has 114 buildings built between 1625-26 and 1783. Its important library and architecture offer historical evidence of the Qing Dynasty and the cultural traditions of the Manchu and other northern tribes. The palace reflects the founding of China’s last dynasty, its expansion into the country’s centre, and the move of the capital to Beijing, after which the Shenyang palace became auxiliary to the Beijing Imperial Palace. 🇮🇳

Interesting
Xiaoning
It spent a long time abandoned after the palace was destroyed by fire during the Jingnan Rebellion launched by Emperor Yongle. These days, the surviving foundation is preserved as Ming Palace Ruins Park.

You can visit without buying a ticket. The Ming Dynasty palace declined after the emperor moved to Beijing, and people later took its building materials during wars in the Qing Dynasty and afterward. Despite that, there are no records of the palace being burned down.
