Novotel Nanjing Airport

The room was good, though there was no mirror except in the toilet. The reception staff were okay, but not especially efficient, and breakfast was decent rather than impressive. It’s a 10-15 minute drive from the airport, so don’t let the name confuse you. A Didi ride cost about 30 RMB.

On my earlier stay last October, when I had Silver status, the experience was disappointing. This time I’m a Gold member and things were completely different. I got a room on a premium floor, as my status called for. It was about the same size, but came with the welcome fruit and drinks, including two cans of Korean soda and two bottles of Thai soda, plus a coffee machine.

The breakfast was a real highlight, with tasty, satisfying dishes, and the beds were clean and comfortable enough for a very sound sleep. The hotel’s shuttle service also stood out. We were flying from Northern Xinjiang to Shanghai, and a bus picked up our group of 27 from around 10 AM on the 24th. We didn’t return to the hotel until after 4 AM, then took another shuttle straight to the airport the next day. I checked in around 4 AM on Friday, September 25, 2025, and left for the airport at 11:45 AM that day. Sharing my stay, and I’d highly recommend the hotel.

There are shopping malls nearby for picking up late-night snacks, so there’s no need to lug things back from Confucius Temple or Laomendong. The rooms are roomy enough for eight people to sit down for dinner and drinks in the evening. A pretty good hotel in the Jiangnan region.
