The audience seating turns 360°, which adds to the experience, and the show itself is spectacular. Zhang Yimou is well known for outdoor live performances, and this one has Mount Wuyi as its backdrop. The performances are lively, with wonderful lighting and sound. An hour well spent.

We watched it yesterday as a family and had a great time, though I think the plot could be better. The show focuses mostly on tea, with some impressive stunts and really well synchronized dancing. The seats rotate between acts, which was pretty cool. It lasts a little over an hour, and you can buy tickets there without booking ahead.

This fifth Impression performance by director Zhang Yi Mo is a must-see. Music, dance, and lights come together with the mountains and river to tell the story of Wuyishan’s tea mastery and the spirit of this tea town. Highly recommended when visiting Wuyishan.

The tea culture and history came through in the show, which featured hundreds of performers against the natural setting of Mt. Wuyi. With its rotating stage, traditional-style building facades, and changing scenes woven together with lighting, it felt worth the time and money. Zhang Yimou directed it.
