There are some interesting old houses here. The area is nice too, with a pedestrian street where you can wander at your own pace and stop for a cup of tea along the way.

The old streets and city gates are worth seeing, and the minorities museum gives an interesting look at Yunnan province. This beautiful walled city is a must-visit if you're in the Dali area. It's home to the Yi minority.

There's a beautiful mountain right beside this ancient town, and you can explore it as well as the quieter, interesting areas off the main old town road. The place is artistic, with a slow, peaceful feel and lots of history and culture.

Walking around, the constant touting really spoils the experience. The heritage look feels artificial, and the same kinds of shops appear on every street. I can't really appreciate all the gimmickry going on throughout the town.

It's fascinating to see how people still live here, and the city feels very peaceful. The old walls and streets have been preserved so well. Such a beautiful old city.
