Hyatt Centric Lakeside Ningbo

I used to choose Hyatt Centric whenever I visited Ningbo for work or leisure, thanks to my Hyatt loyalty and its location by Tongxin Lake. This stay was a big disappointment. Karaoke outside was very loud and clearly audible even on the 11th floor, until 8.00 PM, and I found it really annoying. Mosquitoes in both the lobby and room kept me from sleeping well for two nights. The reception staff also seemed inexperienced and unwelcoming. They didn't even greet me for my Discoverist status.

The rooms were okay, and the mattress was comfortable, but we disliked the stay enough to check out a night early. They let us leave despite having another night booked. The pool was under construction, and several machines in the gym had exposed cables sticking out. A colleague's toilet wasn't working. Breakfast was awful, the worst I've had at a Chinese five star international hotel, and fresh fruit was the only thing I found edible. None of the staff spoke English. The rooms also lacked useful basics like cotton pads and body lotion. Very subpar for a five star hotel, especially a Hyatt. Never again.

I wish this hotel were in the city center.
